FACILITIES AVAILABLE

 

Risingholme Community Centre is situated in a beautiful and peaceful English-style park setting with plenty of open space containing a childrens play area, out door seats, a drinking fountain and public toilets.

 

Please contact the City Council for permission to use the park.

 

The Risingholme homestead was built in 1864 and is now a multi-use facility available for hire by the community.

 

Main House

Kitchen with hot water, instant hot water system for tea/coffee making, microwave, small fridge, sink unit.

Basic kitchen facilities.

Vacuum cleaner and other cleaning equipment available

 

Telephone available for emergency use

 

Crumpton Room

A beautiful old-style drawing room.  Seats 30.

Suitable for workshops, training activities, concerts, private functions, classes, community group activities and meetings. 

Carpeted

Chairs, trestle tables and white board available.

 

Edgar Room

A typical teaching room.  Seats up to 20.

Suitable fro workshops, training activities, concerts, private functions, classes, community group activities, meetings.

Carpeted

Chairs, trestle tables and white board available.

 

McKenzie Room

Smaller room. Seats up to 12.

Suitable for smaller groups, workshops etc.

Carpeted.

Chairs, trestle table and white board available.

 

On the Grounds

 

Theatre

Comparable to an old fashioned school hall. Seats up to 200.

Suitable for workshops, training activities, concerts, private functions, classes, community group activities, meetings.

Wooden floor

Telephone available for community use.

 

A basic kitchen with hot water, instant hot water system for tea/coffee making, microwave, pie warmer and small fridge.  Basic cleaning equipment available.

 

Bull Room

A typical teaching room.  Seats up to 20.

Suitable for workshops, training activities, classes, community group activities, meetings.

Trestle tables, chairs and whiteboard.

 

 

Other facilities

Trestle tables and exhibition stands for hire.

Overhead projector available

Photocopying, laminating and fax service.

 

 

ACCESS

 

Two walking entrances to the park and buildings - 22 Cholmondeley Avenue and Reeves Road.

 

The Lyttelton bus service stops at the end of both the above streets.

 

Ramp access to all main buildings

 

 

CAR PARKING

 

Private off-street car park with parking for 30 vehicles.
