Although Egyptian food falls under both Middle Eastern and Mediterranean Cooking, it is worth noting that the same dish will taste different in each country of the region and even ingredients will vary.
Egyptian foods has a unique character. Throughout history, because of its strategic position, Egypt had been occupied by the major powers of the time and that is reflected in Egyptian cuisine. Different foods were incorporated into Egyptian cooking and came out with a local flavour instead of losing the local character of the food to the foreign ones.
This course will teach you in a rustic way, how to prepare simple, delicious meals based mainly on family recipes.
Approximate weekly cost of ingredients $30 – $40 but this may vary depending on food prices and type of recipes chosen by learners.
Learners are welcome to work in groups to save costs and the tutor will discuss a range of options.
A list of ingredients for the first session will be provided upon receipt of course fee payment and the following weeks list will be handed out during each session.
Learners to supply own tea towels, dish cloths and hand towels.
