Before you enrol in a wheel throwing class consider the following points –
– Can I sit comfortably at a pottery wheel?
– Can I use my hands and fingers well enough to begin to practice and learn wheel throwing or do I have arthritis or a condition or injury that could make this difficult?
– Have an open mindset, be kind to yourself, be prepared to get a bit messy and be prepared to collapse a few pots.
– You will be learning about posture, cognitive thinking while using both hands and fingers and controlling the speed of the wheel at the same time, this takes patience and practice.
– By the end of the workshop you will be just beginning on your wheel throwing journey and have a few pots made to take home.
