Entry to workshop – minimum skill level, you must have at least attended one 8 week throwing course or one of our beginners throwing weekend workshops prior to enrolling in this workshop.
This workshop will give you time to develop your skills in throwing.
Della will give you opportunities to extend yourself in throwing while being shown how to make lids, spouts and build composite pots like teapots. You can choose what you make. If you are fairly new to wheel throwing you may just hone your skills and make some bowls, vases or mugs or you may want to have a play and extend yourself in this mixed ability workshop. Della will encourage you to draw what you want to throw and you may want to research and plan the design before you attend.
Glazing will be done three weeks following your workshop on a Sunday between 4pm – 6pm and then collection of your completed work a week after glazing to discuss an issues that arose from the glazing/firing process.
The three weeks are made up of four sessions, Saturday and Sunday of one weekend 10am – 4pm then a 2hr glazing session is on a Sunday 4 – 6pm three weeks later, then collection of your items the following Sunday.
The course fee includes all of the clay, glazes and firing for items as per course curriculum. There will be a few items/tools that will need to be purchased, you will find this on the information sheet provided by the office staff.
