Never used a sewing machine? Need a refresher?
This course is for the beginner or perhaps you have not sewn for some time and need a refresh. We use domestic sewing machines and work with woven fabric. The course starts with the basics of getting to know the machine, threading the machine, achieving the correct stitch tension. Practicing types of seams and sewing techniques. In the last four sessions we work on an individual sewing project, learning how to follow written pattern instructions, cut out fabric and complete a project. Other information includes, taking measurements, knowing the correct size pattern to select and understanding the importance of grainlines.
